It was agreed, at the start of 2017, that the precept request for 2017/18 would be £35,000. Your parish clerk submitted the request to SCDC which has been accepted.
This is a time of great upheaval and changes to local government including planning, building, dock expansion, proposed superstores and housing. Never in recent history has there been such a time when the inhabitants of this area need to be vigilant if they are not to be overwhelmed by the shear volume of growth of building of both houses and dock expansion. We need both for the area to survive but it needs to be acheived sympathetically if we are to avoid the whole area being grubbed up to provide a possibly illusiory halvalla at the expense of prime agricultural land and valuable ammenity.
However, you will, by now, be well aware that your parish council along with many others, seem powerless to stop any growth the developers put before SCDC, even though sites and densities have been agreed in a document that has SCDC support and indeed ownership and involved your parish representatives in many long evenings work which have resulted in a complete disregard of the decisions that were arrived at.
